We Will Be Closed Memorial Day 5/27

Peddler’s Son Produce, will be closed in observance of Memorial Day, Monday, May 27, 2013.

We will operate a normal delivery schedule on Saturday, and will be closed on Sunday, May 26th & Monday, May 27th. Orders placed after 10am on Saturday, May 25th will be delivered Tuesday, May 28th.

An End Of An Era

There are always special people that come into your life that touch your heart and leave a lifetime impression.  Sal Balistreri was one of those people.  As many of you know, Sal was a part of Peddler’s Son Produce for fifteen years.  He held the title of  inside sales and customer service, but he was much more than that.  He was our ‘rock’ and one of the reasons we all enjoyed coming to work.  For many of our customers, he was the friendly, funny voice that greeted you when you called the office. His passion for love, life and fun was infectious.  There was no way you could be in the same room as him and not smile or laugh.  He truly loved life and wanted you to as well. Everyone who knew him considered him to be a friend – a close friend. Actually, a member of the family.  There was never any awkwardness of  ‘getting to know’ him.  He met you and instantly you felt like he really was one of your uncles or cousins, a fun uncle or cousin, and of course you’d meet him for dinner.  He texted too.  Just to let you know he was thinking about you, or to remind you of his goofy sense of humor.  Sal oozed love. He made you feel great just knowing him.  It was truly his gift that he shared generously with everyone.

We’re so grateful to have had the opportunity to be a part of Sal’s family.  While we’ll miss him terribly, we do have the wonderful gift of life he shared and know it remains with all of us in our hearts.  Sal, thank you for making Peddler’s Son Produce a special place for all!  We love you!
